The University of Minnesota Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC) is one of eight TTURC affiliates funded through the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The overall goal of the TTURC is to encourage integrated research across scientific disciplines, such as the neurosciences, economics, epidemiology, genetics, behavioral sciences, pharmacology, and medicine in order to significantly advance our understanding of tobacco use, nicotine addiction, and tobacco harm reduction.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is also funding the TTURCs through the Partners with Tobacco Use Research Centers program. The Partners program supplements communications that translate the TTURC research, its practice, and policy implications to policy makers, healthcare practices, and the public.
