Anne M. Joseph, M.D., M.P.H., is a general internist at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Medical Center, and Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Also at the university, Dr. Joseph is the Policy Research Director for the Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC), as well as one of the Center's principal investigators in conducting research in harm reduction in relation to exposure to tobacco.

Dr. Joseph received her Doctorate of Medicine and Bachelor of Arts degree, from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She then earned her Masters in Public Health in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota.

Throughout her career, Dr. Joseph has published numerous scientific articles and abstracts on the topic of tobacco control in prestigious journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Journal of Public Health. A member of the several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians and Society for Research in Nicotine and Tobacco, Dr. Joseph also is a leader in statewide tobacco control efforts, serving on the board of the Minnesota Smoke-Free Coalition. Dr. Joseph has received various honors in recognition of her medical achievements, including the 2001 University of Minnesota Department of Medicine Faculty Outcomes Research Award.
